Department of Police, Roads, and Transport held an award ceremony at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bloemfontein, to celebrate and congratulate employees who successfully completed their courses at the University of Free State.
3 years ago, the department started a partnership with the Business School to capacitate 751 officials.
The Department prides itself on all certificate holders and also pride itself in continuing to train employees for better service delivery and better skills placements. The ceremony is meant to encourage fellow employees to attend courses to improve themselves and grow in the public sector while increasing their knowledge and skills.
Head of Department: Mr. Sipho Mtakati in his address acknowledged and appreciated all female employees who received certificates in “Women in leadership” course. He further said that women must be appreciated.
“I want to take this time to wish all the ladies a happy Women’s Month. Women are strong and very intelligent and must be given opportunities to lead. We need to fight patriarchy because it is a reality even in the workplace”, he said.
Mr. Mtakati said we can only professionalize the public sector by capacitating employees.
